Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Yule Festival kicks off today

It's beginning to look a lot like Yule time in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

It's the Holiday season and that means, as players, we are about to be subject to a barrage of winter events. These appear most frequently in online service games with constant rolling content from the Destiny 2s and Overwatchs of the world.

However, why can't the single-player games get in on the fun? Assassin's Creed Valhalla is breaking the mold and hosting a Yule season event. This is part of a promise from Ubisoft to bring free season content to the game every three months. These are open to all players, so you don't even need the season pass.

The Yule Festival kicks off today and will run until January 7, 2021. During it, players will be able to participate in special activities and get new rewards. Those activities include but are not limited to archery challenges and... well, drunken brawls.

Completions will reward you with Yule Tokens to spend in a new special shop for festivals. The new items include:

Mōdraniht Tattoo Set
Mōdraniht Ceremonial Seax
Mōdraniht Ceremonial Shield
Traditional Yule Garland
Sacrificial Altar
Ritual Tree Ornaments
Cozy Fire Pit
Yule Beech Tree

It is noted that to enjoy the Yule Festival, you will have to have completed at least an arch in Assassin's Creed Valhalla (so, Grantebridgescire or Ledecestrescire). Also, obviously, these seasonal items are only available during the festival window.

Ubisoft also unveiled a little bit about their next season drop, too, which is expected in February. It's centered around a new mode called River Raid. The post says, “River Raid will keep you busy with not one, not two, but THREE new (and replayable!) maps that will be brimming with new Gear, Silver, Runes, Books of Knowledge, and much more.”
