3DS XL out now in the US, back up your SD cards before transfer

3DS XL has arrived in the US, but take heed of a warning courtesy of GoNintendo and back up your SD card before you transfer your 3DS data over to the newer, bigger console; users report the loss of all eShop content and save files. Re-downloading will fix the first problem, but the second one is solved only by the seven stages of grief.

The 3DS XL will set you back $200 - including an AC adapter missing from the Japanese and European packaging - sporting a larger screen and form factor as well as increased battery life. It is accompanied by New Super Mario Bros. 2, the first 3DS title released simultaneously on the eShop and at retail.
