3DS nears 6 million US sales, Flame Red bundle inbound

Nintendo is approaching an important milestone in the US, and this new Super Mario 3D Land pack will probably push it past the post.
Gamespot reports the new bundle includes a Flame Red 3DS and Super Mario 3D Land pre-installed for $170. It will be available from Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving traditionally associated with spending lots of money on slightly discounted electronic goods.
Nintendo can afford to value add on the 3DS's RRP, as it has managed nearly 6 million sales of the two models - 3DS and 3DS XL - in the US alone.
Worldwide, the system has sold 22 million units, and software sales have passed 64 million.
The 3DS launched in March 2011 and has had an RRP of $170 since a price cut form its original $250 price tag.
