The Ascent generated $5 million in first weekend sales, Curve's biggest ever opening weekend
The Ascent is doing rather well for both developer Neon Giant and its publisher, Curve Digital.
According to Curve Digital, The Ascent generated $5 million during its first weekend on sale. It also secured the number one slot on the Steam Global Charts.
Released on July 29 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, the game also saw over 1,700 YouTube and Twitch channels stream gameplay with over 10 million generated views.
Curve Digital also stated the game was the biggest opening weekend for any game it has ever published.
“The Ascent is the first game out of Curve where our new team has been able to substantially make their mark, working closely with the developer and our platform partners," said Curve Digital CEO John Clark.
"This success is the result of a genuine team effort throughout the company, the arrival of new leadership and talent, and is truly reflective of our new approach of being developer and player-focused in all that we do."
"We have been overwhelmed by the positive response from the community and all our players," said Neon Giant. "As a small team of twelve, creating the game has taken a monumental effort, and we cannot express how grateful we are to everyone who has played the game and given us feedback."
