Ghost of Tsushima is PS4's second-most completed open world game
Ghost of Tsushima is a pretty popular game for PlayStation 4 players, it turns out – over 50% of players have finished it.
According to some number-crunching courtesy of the folks over Ungeek, we've learned that 50.2% of players have unlocked the Mono No Aware Trophy in Ghost of Tsushima – meaning that have half the players that have booted the title up (and synced their Trophy Data) have finished the game. That's not a bad number, considering the game has sold at least 5 million copies since its release in July 2020.
That's a pretty impressive number; the only other open world game PlayStation 4 that has a higher completion rate is Marvel’s Spider-Man is higher, which rocks in at 50.8% completion rate. Not bad for a pair of first-party exclusives.
Ungeek's research points towards other open world games seeing a distinctly lower release rate (at least if Trophy Data is anything to go by).
Here's a quick rundown of other games the site has dug up:
- Marvel’s Spider-Man – 50.8%
- Ghost of Tsushima - 50.2%
- Assassin’s Creed Origins – 38.2%
- Far Cry 5 – 36.7%
- Days Gone – 34.7%
- Horizon Zero Dawn – 34.1%
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – 30%
- The Witcher 3 – 29.8%
- Death Stranding – 28.6%
- Red Dead Redemption II – 28.2%
- Watch Dogs 2 – 24.9%
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – 19.8%
Within three days on sale, Ghost of Tsushima managed to sell more than 2.4 million units around the world, and the Japan-set epic also fascinated Japanese players – who made it the country’s second-highest PS4 game in sales for a first-party game ever.
It's been popular both in terms of sales and completion, then; a big complement to development studio Sucker Punch.
