Monster Hunter Rise is coming to PC next year
Monster Hunter Rise will indeed make its way to PC, but not anytime soon.
Capcom has confirmed that the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise, is early in development. The PC version is currently targeting release sometime in 2022.
Rise producer Ryozo Tsujimoto told IGN that this is something PC fans have been asking for, but did not mention any specifics about the PC version as it won't be out for a while yet.
"We received a lot of requests for a PC version of Monster Hunter Rise, particularly from overseas players, and so we have decided to develop a version for PC, which we aim to release in early 2022," said Tsujimoto.
"This is still under development, so I’d like to share more detailed information when the time is right."
Even though Monster Hunter Rise was only ever announced as a Switch exclusive, the news is not entirely surprising, of course.
As a result of Capcom's major ransomware hack recently, plans for several of the publisher's upcoming projects were leaked online. A PC version for Monster Hunter Rise was among them, though it's a little surprising to see Capcom confirm its existence now - just a few weeks before the Switch version is released - and not, say, later this year.
Nevertheless, PlayStation and Xbox consoles likely won't get Rise alongside PC. This all depends on the agreement Nintendo has with Capcom, as Rise may very well be a console exclusive for Switch.
Monster Hunter Rise arrives March 26 on Switch.
