Josef Fares shows off It Takes Two gameplay in new trailer

The developer walks us through some of the scenarios in this forthcoming release.

The director of the upcoming co-op title It Takes Two Josef Fares has shown off some new gameplay in a brand new trailer.

The famously confident directly took us through aspects of the forthcoming release, which sees the parents of a girl magically turned into dolls who have to fix their relationship under the guidance of a talking book.

Fares boasts that every stage of It Takes Two is unique, with the gameplay reflecting what is happening in the story. For example, at one point the duo is giving two pieces of a magnet, with which they have to use to help find their lost attraction. Very on the nose.

There's also a stage where they team up with a load of squirrels in order to take on a wasp's nest that has been set up in their tree. This seems to involve using a fancy squirrel-made weapon together to create explosions, or manipulate objects to navigate through the world.

It Takes Two is the latest co-op title from developer Hazelight and was announced in July 2020, ahead of a gameplay reveal at The Game Awards last year.

It's the second project that the studio has teamed up with Electronic Arts for, with the game coming out via the firm's EA Originals publishing label.

Fares seems to be confident about It Takes Two, saying in an interview earlier in February that he'd give people $1,000 if they got bored of the game. This is the same dude who proclaimed "F**k the Oscars" at The Game Awards a few years back, so we can't say we're surprised. And no, Fares has said he wasn't on cocaine at the time like many people assumed.

It Takes Two is launching on March 26 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and PC.
