Zombies could be coming to Call of Duty: Warzone

A load of hints about new content have appeared in the battle royale game.

It looks like Call of Duty's infamous zombies could be making their way into Warzone.

As pointed out by Zombies lore expert Eric Maynard on Twitter, since last week a Cold War Zombies trial machine has been sitting in the hospital in Warzone if you are on the rumble playlist. At the moment this doesn't actually do anything, but there is an interaction labelled "ZAI/ACTIVATE_ZOMBIES."

In Black Ops Cold War's Zombies mode, these machines are where players exchange points for rewards by completing challenges.

As if that wasn't enough, Reddit user Soggy_nugget86 has stumbled across a radio in Warzone's offices area playing a message in Russian. Fellow Redditor Wolf-of-icewrack has translated this, with the broadcast apparently saying:

"Dispatch, this is Russian ship 'Vodyanoy' channel 1-2, over."

"This is dispatch, requesting shipping permit to Verdansk, over."

"Dispatch, cargo secured, all systems are fine. Get ready to go. Over"

Whether said cargo ship is going to bring the undead to the map is unclear at the moment. It's worth noting that at the end of the Modern Warfare storyline in Warzone, series vet John “Soap” MacTavish said that he was "half a click off the coast," so he could well be on this boat.

As reported by Eurogamer, the speculation within the community at the moment is that Vodyanoy is being used to ship a biochemical weapon called Nova 6 on and off Warzone's Rebirth Island map. It's also popped up in the Black Ops sub-series a fair bit.

Season One of Black Ops Cold War ends next week, so this may be setting up Zombies' arrival in the next season.
