EA announces formation of Skate 4 studio Full Circle
Electronic Arts have announced the formation of a new studio based in Vancouver, Full Circle, which will be tasked with working on Skate 4.
Skate 4 studio Full Circle will be under the leadership of Daniel McCulloch who was the former Head of Xbox Live at Microsoft.
“The fans wished Skate back into existence and we want them involved in the process from development to game launch and beyond," said McCulloch. "We want them to feel like they are a part of Full Circle. We’re all about having fun and making great games that people want to play with their friends. And, we’re looking for more developers to help us build compelling worlds for players to explore.”
At the end of the EA Play Live 2020 showcase, it was announced the next Skate is in the works. Since it’s still the early days, we don’t know what it’s being called, so we will just call it Skate 4 for now.
The announcement was made by franchise director Deran Chung and creative director Chris Parry, both of which are back to help "lead the charge on the next evolution of the franchise."
“We’re so stoked to be back working on Skate,” the pair said. “Some would say things have come full circle."
EA hinted during a call to investors back in June that Skate 4 could contain an open-world with “user-generated content and interaction.”
