Blizzard teases new Diablo 4 class reveal at BlizzCon
Diablo 4 will reappear in just a few months!
Despite not showing any new Diablo 4 footage since the game was announced at BlizzCon 2019, Blizzard has quietly been toiling away and releasing updates to fans.
The developer has been revealing more about the game's design on a quarterly basis in blog posts, outlining nitty-gritty details like progression and in-game systems.
The last blog of the year has now been posted. It's substantial, too, talking about things like feedback on the skill trees, legendaries, weapon types, item quality and a lot more.
However, what about when we can next 'see' what the game has to offer?
Well, the post has us covered there as well. In it, director Luis Barriga reveals that we are not too far away from getting major news from the game. In the post, he says, “Our next update will take place during BlizzConline, rather than in blog form. We’ve read speculation about what it could be and want to ensure you that it is something chunky indeed.”
He goes on to tease, “Without spoiling the surprise, Let's just say it involves a new version of the campfire scene we showed you last BlizzCon.”
This is a subtle hint that we will be getting at least one more class announcement as Diablo classically has players choose their class from around a campfire. There are three classes announced for Diablo 4 already, (Barbarian, Sorceress, and Druid) but there will be five in total when the game launches.
BlizzConline is set to take place February 19 - 20, 2021. This is replacing the conference which would have traditionally happened in November. It's now been converted to an entirely online experience after the coronavirus pandemic.
