Oscar Isaac to star as Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid film

Looks like Oscar Isaac will portray Solid Snake in Sony Pictures' Metal Gear Solid film.

That's according to a Deadline report (and confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter) stating Isaac will star in the film based on the Metal Gear Solid video game series from Konami.

Issac is known for starring in films such as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and others in the series as Poe Dameron. He also starred in Life Itself, The Letter Room, and will play as Duke Leto Atreides in the upcoming Dune movie.

The movie was first announced eight years ago with news the following year stating it was still three years out.

In 2018 it was reported that Jordan Vogt-Roberts (You're the Worts, Kong: Skull Island, The Kings of Summer) was on board to direct.

The script is penned by Derek Connolly, with Avi Arad producing, and Peter Kang as the executive.

A production start date is still unknown.
