Sony boss won't say if God of War: Ragnarok is a PS5 exclusive
Will God of War: Ragnarok be on the PS4 and PS5? Sony aren't saying.
PlayStation boss Jim Ryan has decided not to disclose if the upcoming God of War: Ragnarok will be cross-generational.
God of War: Ragnarok is sure to be lighting up the eyes of early adopters of the PS5. While players make their way through the new console's launch line-up, Sony Santa Monica's next effort is one of, if not the biggest PlayStation exclusive on the horizon. The idea of a game in the series designed just for the PS5 is a salivating one.
However, we don't know if that is the case yet. Sony has thus far refused to disclose basically anything about the title past a logo and a 2021 release date. The company has kept up that shroud of secrecy in a new interview too.
Talking to the Telegraph, Sony boss Jim Ryan was tight-lipped on the game. When asked if God of War: Ragnarok is a PS5 exclusive, Ryan simply said: "Sorry. I've got nothing to say about that today."
It's a fair question, though. Many assumed Horizon: Forbidden West would be a PlayStation 5 exclusive too, but it was revealed that the game was indeed coming to previous-gen consoles during its announcment.
If the game skips the PS4, it will surely please early adopters of the PS5 who will get to enjoy a AAA first-party game designed for the console from the ground up. If the game doesn't, it will surely please everyone else who gets to actually play it.
With the game due out next year, there must be hope that the game resurfaces soon, and hopefully with answers to a lot of the lingering questions.
