Datamine points to Black Panther, War Machine and more coming to Marvel's Avengers

We now have an idea of what might be coming to Marvel's Avengers in the near future.

That's going off a datamine on the recently-released patch for Crystal Dynamics' title, as shared by Twitter user Millerand spotted by Multiplayer First – which points to characters such as Black Panther and War Machine coming to Marvel's Avengers. The former was teased by the studio in September, but was delayed following the death of actor Chadwick Boseman, who died that same month.

As well as new characters, it also seems that there are a number of new levels coming to the game.

Marvel's Avengers launched in September of this year of PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. According to research firm SuperData sold about 2.2m units digitally around the world, about as well as Spider-Man did. Despite this early popularity, the title has seen diminishing player figures on PC. Developer Crystal Dynamics said that it was "confident" that users would come back to the game. The company was hoping that the update it released in October would help attract already-lapsed users to Marvel's Avengers.

Marvel's Avengers is coming to the next generation consoles, too, but not until 2021. Last month the studio delayed both the game's release on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X machines, and bumped the Kate Bishop DLC content out of October, too.
