Ghost of Tsushima: Legends coming October 16, introduces online co-op, New Game+ and more
Ghost of Tsushima developer Sucker Punch has today revealed that free game update, Legends, arrives on October 16.
Revealed earlier this year, Legends arrives alongside version 1.1 of the game on PlayStation 4 and introduces a slew of new features to the title.
"This update brings the launch of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, a brand-new co-op multiplayer mode inspired by Japanese mythology, as well as exciting new updates and New Game+ for our single-player campaign!" says a post over on the PlayStation Blog.
In the online portion of the update, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, you can fight side-by-side with your friends, and you'll be able to play in two-player story missions and four-player survival missions, as well as a "Raid that [will] release in the weeks following launch", according to Sucker Punch.
"After you’ve downloaded version 1.1 of Ghost of Tsushima, you can visit the PlayStation Store from your PS4 to download a free unlock for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, which will allow you to play". You will need to be online and have an active PS Plus subscription in order to play the online portion of the game.
More information about the incoming mode, including a breakdown of the various playable classes, can be found over on the Ghost of Tsushima: Legends blog page.
New updates are coming to the single-player mode, too.
"If you’ve already beaten Ghost of Tsushima, you’ll find the option to re-embark on Jin’s Journey in New Game+," says Sucker Punch. "You’ll keep all of the Techniques, Gear, and Vanity items obtained in a previous playthrough, and difficulty will be increased to provide a new challenge (but you can still adjust it down in the menu)."
New Game+ also comes with new trophies you can unlock.
Once you've downloaded version 1.1, you'll be able to meet a new merchant in New Game+ that deals in Ghost Flowers. These can be used to new purchase new armor dyes and other vanity gear only found in New Game+, "featuring much more elaborate designs than those found in your first playthrough".
You can also set up Armor Loadouts, so you don't need to keep manually swapping your equipped gear for every different kind of encounter.
Ghost of Tsushima v1.1 arrives on October 16.
