Forza Horizon 3 is being removed from sale in September

You'll soon no longer be able to find Forza Horizon 3 on sale.

Microsoft has announced that Forza Horizon 3 is approaching the end of its life. The game, and all of its DLC, are being removed from official PC and Xbox One digital channels on September 27.

The game's servers, however, will remain online for owners to continue playing as they do today. If you own the game, you'll also be able to re-download it and the DLC you have in the future.

From now until September 27, Forza Horizon 3 and all of its DLC are being heavily discounted. The game's Ultimate Edition is now $21. The Ultimate Edition does not include the expansion pass as it does in Forza Horizon 4.

Because of this, you'll need to purchase the expansion pass separately ($10.50) if you want to access Blizzard Mountain and the excellent Hot Wheels expansions.

Although Microsoft didn't specify the reason for removing the game from sale, it's likely the result of expiring music and car licensing agreements.

Forza fans will remember that Microsoft regularly does this with Horizon games just a few years after their release. You can no longer buy Forza Horizon, or Forza Horizon 2, for example.
