An unannounced triple-A game from one of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises is coming this year

According to Ubisoft's fiscal report from today, May 14, an unannounced triple-A game from one of its biggest franchises is coming this year.

This applies to the current fiscal year, which runs from April 1, 2020, through March 31, 2021. Alongside the unannounced project - which, again, will be a triple-A game from one of Ubisoft's biggest franchises - various other games will launch within this same window. Check out the tweet below, which collects all of Ubisoft's scheduled releases for this fiscal year.

As you can see, games scheduled to launch between now and March 31, 2021 include Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six Quarantine, Gods & Monsters, the currently unannounced triple-A title from one of Ubisoft's biggest franchises, Roller Champions, Brawlhalla, Tom Clancy's Elite Squad for mobile, and more.

In terms of how these games may or may not be affected by COVID-19, Ubisoft's CEO, Yves Guillemot, has said that the company's targets for this year remain on track. As development progresses over the next few months, more accurate assessments can be made, while plans and release dates going forward will gradually gain more visibility.

"Our initial targets for 2020-2021 remain in sight as we are currently benefiting from excellent momentum," said Guillemot, as documented in the screenshot above. "However, the COVID-19 crisis calls for prudence, as numerous uncertainties have arisen ... The coming months will provide more visibility on whether we can maintain our release plans."

Guillemot specifically mentions the possibility that Ubisoft could decide "to postpone the release of a triple-A title to 2021-2022, if it ensures to maximize the long-term potential of [its] line-up."

In related news, Ubisoft has announced that it will host its own digital game reveals this July. It was also recently confirmed that Watch Dogs Legion, originally intended to launch earlier this year, will now be released alongside Xbox Series X and PS5.
