Sony seemingly hosting PS5 event in early-mid June - report
It looks like Sony's big PS5 event will take place next month.
With Microsoft having now hosted its first next-gen showcase, everyone is looking to Sony to reveal what it's been working on.
Sure, we've had a brief look at the new DualSense controller, and we all watched the intensely technical Mark Cerny presentation, but we've yet to see the box. More importantly, we're completely in the dark about Sony's plans for games.
According to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, Sony is currently planning to host its own presentation sometime in June, though Schreier stressed that plans could change as a result of coronavirus.
"As of right now, as far as I know, Sony is still on track to do at least one thing by early or mid June, let's say," he revealed on the most recent episode of Press Start Podcast.
"Take this all with a giant caveat that we're in the middle of an unprecedented global pandemic and anything can happen."
This lines up with something similar Venture Beat's Jeff Grubb shared on Resetera forums in April. There's going to be a June 4 event, according to Grubb, but Sony may show off the hardware even earlier.
As Schreier pointed out, it's best to take all this with a grain of salt for now. That said, it's good to know that we hopefully won't have to wait too long to learn more about Sony's plans.
Thanks, @Nibellion.
