Ghost of Tsushima gets a short delay
Sony has announced the release Ghost of Tsushima will be delayed by just under one month.
The open-world game will now see its launch on July 17. Previously, the game was slated to be released on June 26.
The short delay appears to be the result of COVID-19 and its impact on game development as studios adapt to working remotely.
"As our teams at Sony Interactive Entertainment and Worldwide Studios approach development milestones and confront a world changed by COVID-19, we find ourselves having to adapt to today’s ever-changing environment," writes SIE head of worldwide studios Hermen Hulst in a post on the PlayStation blog.
"Amidst some disruptions to our working styles, we wanted to provide an update to PlayStation gamers who are eager to learn when our next exclusive titles will arrive to PlayStation 4."
Developed by Sucker Punch Productions, Ghost of Tsushima is set in 1274 feudal Japan and follows Jin, a samurai on a quest to fend off the Mongol invasion of the Tsushima Island.
