Sony won't be attending this year's Brazil Game Show
Sony has confirmed one more event it won't be presenting at this year.
After skipping E3 before it was officially cancelled, as well pulling out of other events at the start of the coronavirus pandemic, such as GDC, Sony has now confirmed it's also not attending this year's Brazil Game Show.
The official Twitter for PlayStation Brazil posted the news earlier today, to much disappointment from fans. Brazil Game Show 2020 takes place October 8-12.
"After a long evaluation, Sony Interactive Entertainment decided not to participate in the Brazil Game Show in 2020. We can't wait to be able to interact with our fans in Brazil and announce exciting activities until the end of the year," the translated statement reads.
Brazil Game Show may not have the reach of E3 or gamescom, but it remains one of Latin America's biggest events, and takes place in the biggest market in the region. Though it is indeed disappointing that Brazil Game Show is yet another event Sony will be skipping this year, the more interesting implication is that the platform holder may not see early-October as a realistic time to resume normal operations.
With Sony seemingly setting out all major events, it's not really clear when/where the company will be making its next move. A recent report suggested that a PS5 reveal event could take place next month, but that, too, could change as the coronavirus situation continues to evolve.
