Resident Evil survey wants to know if you want more remakes or sequels

Capcom has put out a new survey that seems to hint at more Resident Evil remakes.

Now that Resident Evil 3 has come and gone, Capcom has set its sights on the next adventure in the series. The publisher released a new survey, seemingly only meant for Asian countries, that asks for feedback about the future of the franchise.

The survey starts off with a few questions about Resident Evil 3, such as whether you played the demo, bought the full game and so on. Then things get interesting when the survey asks whether you'd be interested in buying future Resident Evil remakes, or original sequels.

The questions themselves don't point to any particular entry as a candidate in getting a remake or sequel, but the answers do indicate that the games could be cross-gen. One of the answers you can pick for both questions reads, "I will purchase the game even if I had to buy a new console," which suggest that Capcom is interested in next-gen only Resident Evil games.

Though surveys shouldn't be taken as concrete evidence, they're often utilised by publishers to inform marketing and other strategies, not specifically direct development. Rumours about an imminent reveal of Resident Evil 8 have been swirling for a while, so we at least know a new original game is in the works.

As for remakes, Resident Evil – Code: Veronica seems like a good pick for the next remake. The game's events do follow up Resident Evil 2 and 3, and just like the original classics, it would benefit from the visual and mechanics overhaul a remake would bring.

Until such time, you can hit the link above to take the survey. If you're still busy with Resident Evil 3, be sure to check our full guide, which does include a walkthrough of all levels, and more straightforward pages like this one for all safe codes.
