Microsoft expanding Project xCloud preview to 11 European countries
Microsoft is expanding its Project xCloud preview to 11 European countries.
Project xCloud Preview will expand to 11 new countries in Europe for Android, and you can sign up from today.
Registration is now open in these preview markets, and Microsoft is asking players across Western Europe who want to participate in Preview to sign up. Once testing is ready to begin, you will receive a notification email with further instructions.
The preview will be available to a limited number at first, with more folks added over time.
"We know gaming is an important way for people to remain connected, particularly during these times of social distancing, but we also recognize how internet bandwidth has been impacted with strain on regional networks as large volumes of people responsibly stay home and go online," said the company in an official announcement.
"We will take a measured approach to help conserve internet access, beginning the preview in each market with a limited number of people and adding more participants over time."
Here's the list of upcoming Project xCloud preview countries:
- Belgium
- Denmark
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Ireland
- Italy
- Netherlands
- Norway
- Spain
- Sweden
Project xCloud has continued to grow and evolve since the preview started in October of last year. The streaming tech features the ability to play Xbox One console games from the cloud on an Android phone or tablet.
Microsoft recently started testing the streaming service on iOS, but it's limited in the number of games available. It also has started internal testing for Project xCloud on PC.
Games available to test on the service include Gears 5, A Plague Tale: Innocence, Destiny 2, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Devil May Cry 5, Wasteland 2, Civilization 6, The Surge, Darksiders 3, various Telltale Games titles, and many others.
