Kojima Productions employee tests positive for COVID-19
The studio behind Death Stranding is temporarily shutting its office after an employee was diagnosed with COVID-19.
Kojima Productions confirmed the diagnosis in a press release, stating the employee received their results after undergoing a PCR test.
While they have not been in the office since March 20, the Japan-based game studio is closing its offices and other staff will continue working from home.
"We are working closely with public health authorities and they have informed us that since this employee was not in the office at the time of symptoms onset, all other Kojima Productions employees are not considered 'close contacts,' meaning that it is not mandatory to close the office.
"However, we at Kojima Productions have independently decided to enact the following precautions to safeguard the health and well-being of all our employees as well as the broader community."
These precautions include temporarily closing the office floor, sanitizing all office facilities, ensuring all working staff now work remotely, and supervising for the health conditions of all staff.
"Kojima Productions will continue working closely with out public health authorities and enact additional precautions as necessary to prevent further spread in any way possible," the statement adds.
