Untitled Goose Game waddles home with GDC Award for Game of the Year

The Game Developers Choice Awards were streamed overnight, and the big winner was House House's Untitled Goose Game which won Game of the Year.

Untitled Goose Game was up against Death Stranding, Control, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Outer Wilds for Game of the Year.

House House's title also won Game of the Year at the 23rd annual DICE Awards.

Remedy's Control walked off with three awards, while Baba is You and Disco Elysium won two each.

The 20th annual Game Developers Choice Awards (GDCA) ceremony was set to take place yesterday but was instead streamed due to GDC 2020 being postponed.

The Audience Award went to thatgamecompany's Sky: Children of the Light and Kate Edwards, former head of the International Game Developers Association and current Global Game Jam executive director, received the Ambassador Award for "helping video games advance to a better place through advocacy and action."

The Pioneer Award, which recognizes breakthrough tech and game design milestones, went to Roberta Williams for co-founding Sierra On-Line with her husband Ken Williams, for her work on titles such as Mystery House, and for creating the King’s Quest game series.
