Horizon Zero Dawn PC version won't have FOV slider
The upcoming PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn will be missing a feature standard in most games today.
It's been helpful keeping an eye on the Horizon Zero Dawn Steam forums. If you're happy to look past the usual console war bullshit, you may find an official answer or two from developer Guerrilla Games.
On the same forums, Guerrilla previously confirmed ultra-wide support for the game. This week, however, the developer revealed a bit of bad news.
Community manager, Anne van der Zanden, replied to a thread about the possibility of an FOV slider by confirming that the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn will not have one. Though she did say the game will offer "several ways to customise your settings."
"We will add several ways to customise your settings for Horizon Zero Dawn for PC," she wrote. "However, we feel that changing the FOV compromises the original Horizon Zero Dawn experience and visual style too much, so you will not be able to change this."
This will likely disappoint many, especially given the game's support for ultra-wide resolutions. That said, Horizon Zero Dawn's PS4 FOV was fairly wide, so it may only be a problem for players with motion sickness.
In any case, we do hope Guerrilla will be ready to reveal more about the PC version sooner rather than later.
