BAFTA Game Awards changes to online format amid growing concerns over coronavirus
Amid growing concerns over the spread of coronavirus, the format for the BAFTA Game Awards as moved online.
The British Academy Television Craft Awards (BAFTA) announced today that because nominees are due to travel from overseas, it made the decision to change the format to an online live stream.
It will be broadcast globally on the same day the live awards were scheduled, Thursday, April 2.
"The health and wellbeing of our guests and our staff remain our top priority, so there will be no live audience and we are now in the process of informing all our nominees, guests, partners, and suppliers of the change," reads the official statement.
"The new format will include the announcement of the Games Awards winners and we look forward to sharing more updates in the coming weeks."
BAFTA has nominated six titles for Best Game. The titles are Control, Disco Elysium, Luigi's Mansion 3, Outer Wilds, Untitled Goose Game, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
