Capcom Pro Tour 2020: four tournaments cancelled and two postponed due to coronavirus
Cpacom has announced some big news for this year's Capcom Pro Tour.
Four of the upcoming tournaments in the Capcom Pro Tour 2020 competition have been cancelled as a result of the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
The Brussels Challenge, Norcal Regionals, April Annihilation, and Taipei Major are being removed from the schedule.
This also means that each event's ranking points are getting removed from the Capcom Tour pool this season. In other words, any points competitors could claim at those events are not being moved to any other event.
The Fighter's Spirit event in Korea, originally scheduled to take place 28-29 March, has been moved to July 11-12. Likewise, the MIXUP event in France had its dates shifted from 18-19 April to 18-19 July.
"Capcom will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments to the schedule as the need arises," the developer said.
"The safety of our fans and players is our top priority. We apologize for any inconvenience to the players, community, production partners and tournament organizers; and we thank you for your understanding."
For now, no changes to the Capcom Pro Tour 2020 rules are being made, but Capcom is open to the idea of making a few tweaks to better accommodate the new schedule. You can keep track of the most current, full schedule at the link.
