Walking Simulator sure looks a lot like Death Stranding
If you can't wait for Death Stranding to come to PC, someone has a game for you.
Walking Simulator is a new game that just hit Steam. A quick look at its Steam page tells you all you need to know about what kind of game it is.
In case it's not obvious, Walking Simulator is a game where you're tasked with delivering packages to stranded NPCs across a post-coronavirus world. If you take out the gloomy epidemic setting, this is very clearly - let's call it inspired - by Death Stranding.
The player wears a harness that allows them to stack packages on their back and trek across the vast world. Our pals at Rock Paper Shotgun have played it, and they say you don't actually have to worry about balancing weights here, though you still want those likes to upgrade your setup.
One thing it doesn't have, though, is Kojima's overindulgent cutscenes. It's also missing Norman Reedus, his bare buttocks, and the ads for his TV show that's not The Walking Dead.
Even if you ignore the wonky physics and cynical presentation, it's hard to even say if this is an elaborate joke about the term "walking simulator," a parody of Death Stranding - or as RPS suggests, a way for the developer to drive some traffic to its other, "real" game.
