Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge is an animated film in the works - update

An animated Mortal Kombat film is currently in the works at Warner Bros. Animation.

Titled Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge, the Mortal Kombat animated film will debut during the first half of this year according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Community's Joel McHale will lend his voice to Johnny Cage, and Dexter's Jennifer Carpenter will lend hers to Sonya Blade.

Voice actors for other characters are also mentioned in the article, which means you can expect Goro, Jax Briggs, Kano, Kitana, Lui Kang, Quan Chi, Raiden, Shang Tsung, Sub-Zero and more to make an appearance.

Scorpion’s Revenge is directed by Ethan Spaulding (Batman: Assault on Arkham), the script was penned by Jeremy Adams (Supernatural) and Netherrealm Studios' Ed Boon is a creative consultant.

Meanwhile, the live-action Mortal Kombat movie is targeting a March 2021 release date. It’s being produced by Aquaman director James Wan, and directed by Simon McQuoid, making it his first feature film debut.
