Final Fantasy 7 Remake is getting a demo, and it already leaked
It looks there's a Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo coming soon, a surprise that's now been ruined thanks to a leak.
Square Enix was seemingly getting close to revealing a public demo for Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The demo was downloaded by PS4 owners with modified (hacked) consoles, who have since been posting various parts of it online.
Gamstat, a site known for skimming PlayStation Store data, recently confirmed the existence of the demo, but it's not just the demo's leak that Square Enix will have to worry about.
On Twitter, users @roXyPS3 and @3226_2143 have been sharing a number of details about returning characters, mini-games, weapons and more based on the demo's files.
Some of the information refers to areas we know won't be in the remake, meaning they're potentially related to future sequels.
There's also an Imgur album doing the rounds, featuring other datamined files and screenshots that reference other parts we may not see in the final game, as well as a first look at updated designs for certain characters.
The demo itself is a 10GB download, and appears to have around 30-45 minutes of gameplay. It has yet to be officially announced, of course, so we have no idea when to expect it to drop. Considering the timing of this leak, however, we're betting very soon.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake launches March 3 on PS4. The game is exclusive to Sony's platform for one year.
