It's off-screen and there isn't that much footage, but here's our first look at Half-Life: Alyx gameplay
Valve has only shown a single trailer for Half-Life: Alyx so far, but some of those who went to play the game are starting to share their own footage.
Tech outlet Tested took a trip to Valve's HQ to spend several hours playing Half-Life: Alyx using Valve's premier Index headset, as well as other cheaper, more common options.
Editor Norman Chan posted a long video recapping his impressions, with a guest appearance by ex-Tested and VR enthusiast Will Smith. In between, there's a smattering of off-screen gameplay footage, which is certainly a much longer and more interesting than what we saw in the game's reveal trailer.
The two areas that stood out to me has been their impressions of the quality of the assets, and how different forms of tracking can alter the experience. Alyx may just be the first VR game to look equal to traditional games in graphical fidelity
The video also offers a decent look at how the different VR headsets work with Alyx. Most of them seem to perform well, with some expected limitations due to their motion control/tracking capabilities.
