New World premiere trailer shows off Amazon Game Studios' new MMO
Amazon Game Studios showed the world premiere trailer for its MMO, New World, tonight during The Game Awards 2019.
New World is an open world, action-rpg MMO set in the Age of Exploration during an alternative 17th Century, besieged by supernatural forces.
First announced in 2016, in the game players will venture to Aeternum, the Eternal Isle, and explore a large land of "danger and opportunity."
Players of the MMO will be familiar with such features as a classless character progression, social systems, crafting, and both PvE and PvP.
As far as the latter, players can engage with others in "massive conflicts" against supernatural invasions in PvE with up to 100 others on the battlefield. PvP players can enjoy taking on others in fortress sieges.
Players can also band together to form powerful Companies operating out of fortified strongholds, or play alone and acquire and customize their own homes and contribute to the larger community around them.
The team developing the MMO is comprised of industry veterans who previously worked on Destiny, Everquest, and World of Warcraft.
It is slated for release in May 2020, but those who pre-order will gain access to the closed beta in April 2020. If you drop the cash early you will also receive Isabella’s amulet, the Fist Bump emote, a guild crest set, and the Expedition One unique title.
