Sony cuts PlayStation Now price in half, adds GTA 5 and God of War for a limited-time

Sony has lowered the price of its PlayStation Now subscription service by half and added high-profile games with limited time windows.

PlayStation Now users will enjoy a lower monthly price and new "marquee titles" added to the service from today.

These games include Grand Theft Auto 5, God of War, Infamous: Second Son, and Uncharted 4.

Like other PlayStation Now titles, the games can be streamed on PS4 or PC, or downloaded to the console. All four titles are available from today, October 1, until January 2, 2020. Each month, the service will add a refreshed selection of titles available for a limited period.

The service's price has also been lowered by half to $9.99 monthly, where it was previously $19.99 per month. Current customers will see this price change in their next billing cycle.

Starting today, PlayStation Now will be offered at the following prices:

  • US: $9.99 – monthly / $24.99 – quarterly / $59.99 – yearly (from $19.99/ $44.99/ $99.99)
  • EU: €9.99 – monthly / €24.99 – quarterly / €59.99 – yearly (from €14.99/ (N/A)/€ 99.99)
  • UK: £8.99 – monthly / £22.99 – quarterly / £49.99 – yearly (from £12.99 / (N/A) / £84.99)
  • JP: ¥1,180 – monthly / ¥2,980 – quarterly / ¥6,980 – yearly (from ¥2,500 / ¥5,900/ (N/A))

The lowered price is a nice touch, considering Sony has to contend with other subscription services such a Xbox Game Pass which starts at $9.99 per month, after the $1 trial period.
