Evo 19: here's every winner, and footage of every finals match-up
Evo 19 has come to an end, so now's the perfect time to catch up on all the incredible matches.
As always, Evo 19 was home to some incredible fighting game prowess, as it always is. This was the first time in a very long time that Super Smash Bros Melee was not a part of the tournament, with Ultimate standing as the sole Smash entry alongside eight other games, including newcomers Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Soulcalibur 6 and Mortal Kombat 11.
We've rounded up the winners, and their matches, below, with thanks to IGN for the embedded videos.

Soulcalibur 6
The final match came down to Yuttoto and Bluegod, who faced off on the Friday of Evo. Yuttoto was victorious, with his Voldo - who is, it's worth saying, is a very creepy character - beating out his opponent's Azwel in the final round. Soulcalibur 6, by the way, is getting some Samurai Showdown crossover DLC in the future.
Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st]
The most obscure game in the tournament ended with Clearlamp_O taking on Oushuu-Hittou. Clearlamp_O's Byakuya took it out in the end.
Dragon Ball FighterZ
My personal favourite fighter to watch built up a lot of hype - returning champion SonicFox was taking on GO1, in essentially a repeat of last year's finals. I almost don't want to spoil how this one ends, honestly. But if you absolutely must know, the win goes to GO1, making the pair 1-1. It's a great moment, and we hope there's a rematch at Evo 20.
SonicFox, for his part, remains a force of pure good in the world.
Samurai Shodown
The final match pit Infiltration's Genjuro against Kazunoko's Haohmaru, against the sort of scenic background the final fight in a samurai film might take place. Infiltration ultimately took it out in a very close match.
Mortal Kombat 11
The final match was SonicFox versus Dragon, and...look, we can't put it any better than SonicFox himself.
BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle
Shinku took on Kyamei in three sets for the BlazBlue finals. It might not be the most beloved title in the BlazBlue series, but Cross Tag Battle is plenty of fun to watch, and Shinku's victory is definitely cool.
Street Fighter 5
BigBird and BonChan squared off in Street Fighter (which also announced a trio of new fighters during Evo). Bonchan eventually took it out. The final moment of this match - which ends in an epic counter - is absolutely worth a watch.
Tekken 7
Tekken 7 is a pretty great Tekken game, and this match between Arslan Ash and Knee shows off just how fluid and exciting its combat is. Arslan Ash eventually takes it out with his Kazumi. As the commentators note, he's the best Tekken player on the planet.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Melee might be out of the competition, but Ultimate has built up a lot of goodwill since its release, and is absolutely the right choice of Smash Bros game to feature in the line-up. The final fight came down to a drawn-out contest between Tweek (who fights with Pokemon Trainer) and Mkleo (using Persona 5's Joker). In the end, Mkleo made excellent use of the DLC fighter to become Super Smash Bros Ultimate's first Evo champion.
