Meet Heartman, the Death Stranding character who dies every 21 minutes, in this new trailer
You wanna get weird? Death Stranding's gonna get weird.
This new character introduction trailer for Death Stranding sheds more information on Heartman, the guy who, as we've previously discussed, dies every 21 minutes and spends three minutes searching the afterlife for his family before returning to life.
Death Stranding is a Hideo Kojima game, in case that previous sentence didn't clue you in.
In the short cutscene clip, Heartman talks about how he's learned to adapt to his weird life, and how he has amassed an enormous library of entertainment that runs for twenty minutes or less. He also reveals that it's very difficult to have sex when you die every 21 minutes, which should give Death Stranding fan fiction writers some interesting fodder to work with.
Heartman is played by Nicolas Winding Refn, director of Drive, Only God Forgives, and The Neon Demon (he's even worked with Mads Mikkelsen before when he starred in his film Valhalla Rising).
As this is a Kojima game, it's likely going to be loaded with cutscenes like this one - presumably we'll get to know Heartman quite well across the span of the game.
Death Stranding launches exclusively on PlayStation 4 on November 8. We're still a little unclear on what it is, exactly, but we're looking forward to finding out.
