Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries becomes Epic Store exclusive, gets delayed to December
Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries has been pushed back several months, and picked up by the Epic Store.
Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries developer Piranha Games has dropped two pieces of big news for the upcoming mech action game. First, the game's release date has been pushed all the way back to December 10.
The developer also announced that Mercenaries will launch exclusively on the Epic Games Store, as opposed to Steam, on PC. The game has been available to pre-order for a long while now, and many players who pre-ordered bought in on the assumption they're getting a Steam key.
Because of this, Piranha said it's ready to refund anyone who wishes to back out. You can submit your refund requests by September 1. Some of the more expensive options included access to content (such as in-game currency) in Mechwarrior Online, which Piranha said won't be revoked.
In November, the developer will host a closed beta test featuring some of the game's practice missions. All pre-orders, including existing players who do not wish to request a refund, will be granted access.
In an FAQ, the team confirmed that Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for a year.
