Read Only Memories is getting a sequel that lets you dive into memories to track down a criminal
Developer Midboss announced Read Only Memories: Neurodiver today, a new cyberpunk, point-and-click mystery that returns players to world of Neo-San Francisco from 2064: Read Only Memories.
In Neurodiver, a rogue psychic known as the Golden Butterfly is on the loose and wreaking havoc through the minds of Neo-San Francisco's citizens. You play as ES88, a telepath tasked with tracking down the rogue, and you're armed with a Neurodiver that allows you to search people's memories for clues to the Golden Butterfly's whereabouts.
The Neurodiver allows players to identify, manipulate, and unlock information in people's minds, but using it too much will corrupt your target's memory. Midboss says there are multiple endings in Neurodiver, so how you use the tool can impact the narrative.
Familiar faces from 2064: Read Only Memories return in Neurodiver, including the gene-spliced, hybrid lawyer Jess Meas, the notorious Hacker TOMCAT, and police officer-turned-private eye Lexi Rivers.
Read Only Memories: Neurodiver launches on PC and Mac in 2020.
