Ghostwire Tokyo announced: the new game from Shinji Mikami's Tango Gameworks is a paranormal adventure
Shinji Mikami took the stage during Bethesda's E3 presentation to announce a brand new game - and this time it's not a survival horror.
Tango Gameworks, the team behind The Evil Within 1 & 2, is working on Ghostwire Tokyo, a brand new paranormal game. It's hard to know what sort of game it is just yet based on the trailer, embedded below, but it looks properly weird and creepy.
The trailer was announced by creative director Ikumi Nakamura during the Bethesda conference, who spoke of the game's general spookiness.
It's set in Tokyo, and it looks like some sort of mass disappearance event is going to happen - people disappear, leaving behind just their clothes scattered all over the place.
But some people (and animals) stay behind, including what looks like the game's protagonist, a guy in a raincoat with a bow and arrow. It looks like the game will likely have a combat focus, although we can't say too much from this trailer beyond the tone - it looks like there will be various ghosts and nasties to deal with.
There's a lot of imagery to take in here - expect a lot of deep dives and speculation over the coming weeks.
The trailer ends with what sounds like a tagline: "Don't fear the unknown. Attack it."
Hopefully more details will emerge during E3 this year.
