New Darksiders game "takes the franchise in a fresh direction", set for E3 2019 reveal
THQ Nordic is set to reveal a new Darksiders game at E3 in a couple of weeks, and it looks like it'll be a departure from the style the series has been known for.
That's according to the E3 Coliseum website, which recently revealed its full schedule of panels. On Thursday, June 13, THQ Nordic is hosting a Darksiders panel.
In the description, the ESA says the discussion will revolve around the series' inception, and "where it’s headed next." In fact, it outright says the panel will coincide with a new Darksiders game reveal at E3, a game it said would "take the franchise in a fresh direction."
Earlier this week, the name Darksiders: Genesis got out. Supposedly, this is the name of the new game, which is said to be different from the traditional action-adventure mantra of the other three.
Not much else is know about this mysterious Darksiders project. We don't even know if THQ Nordic entrusted a new team with Genesis, or of Gunfire Games is returning to re-imagine the series it created.
THQ Nordic does not host an E3 conference, but the publisher is definitely attending the show this year. Expect the new game to either be revealed on Microsoft's stage, or later in the week when E3 officially starts.
