Wolfenstein: Youngblood will support ray tracing
Wolfenstein: Youngblood is the latest game to take advantage of ray tracing tech and Nvidia's RTX GPUs.
At Computex 2019, Nvidia and Bethesda revealed that Wolfenstein: Youngblood will support ray tracing when it launches this July, as well as Nvidia's own Adaptive Shading tech.
The blog post announcing the news sadly does not say exactly where we can expect ray tracing to be utilised. Games that currently support ray tracing have each chosen to make use of the tech in different ways.
Metro: Exodus, for example, uses it for global illumination. Shadow of the Tomb Raider instead makes use of RT strictly for shadows, whereas Battlefield 5's implementation focuses on reflections. This is still good news for owners of RTX cards, because it means there's one more game to add to the small pile.
Those who do not currently own RTX cards but wish to get one will also be happy to know that Nvidia is bundling Wolfenstein: Youngblood with select RTX GPUs, as well as desktops and laptops using RTX cards. The offer is valid from May 28 until August 6.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood is out July 26 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
