New Darksiders and Destroy All Humans games rumored to be announced at E3
If the rumors are true, THQ Nordic plans to announce new Darksiders and Destroy All Humans! games at E3 2019.
During THQ's scandalous 8Chan AMA earlier this year, a company employee posted a screenshot of games the company allegedly planned to bring to E3 2019, including Destroy All Humans! and Darksiders: Genesis.
That a new Destroy All Humans! game is in development is wishful thinking – the fourth and most recent entry in the series, Path of the Furon, launched way back in 2008. But a recent discussion between THQ Nordic and GamingBolt gives the rumor a little more base.
Speaking to GamingBolt, THQ says it will bring two unannounced games to E3. The company describes one as a "new vision for a beloved franchise" and the other as the "long-awaited return of a galactically beloved game/franchise."
That sounds like a new Destroy All Humans! game, alright.
"A new vision for a beloved franchise" likely describes a new Darksiders title, but it probably won't be a mainline entry in the action/adventure series. Darksiders III, after all, only launched in November 2018. Additionally, each mainline entry uses Roman numerals in the title. The name "Darksiders: Genesis" suggests a departure from the core series. Perhaps it's a mobile game. Maybe it's a cart racer. Who knows?
Neither Sony nor Activision will have a major presence at E3 this year. Bethesda and Ubisoft will be, however, and here's when you can watch the Xbox press conference.
