Mortal Kombat 11 dev working on removing 30fps cap on PC
The PC version of Mortal Kombat 11 is generally well regarded among NetherRealm's best, except for one problem.
Mortal Kombat 11's gruesome fatalities, fatal blows, as well as the Krypt are all locked to 30fps. This is a carryover from the console version, where each also has their framerate capped to 30fps to account for the increased detail.
Of course, while the lock makes sense on PS4, and Xbox one, it doesn't quite work on PC. Though this is harder to notice in fatalities and fatal blows, it makes the Krypt feel incredibly sluggish. Since launch, many PC players have been asking for an option to remove the cap for those whose PCs can easily run these segments at 60fps.
In a blog post accompanying the game's most recent patch, a Warner Bros. developer confirmed the team is "working on providing the option to increase the caps in those areas to 60fps."
More details to be revealed soon, according to the post, but this is already very good news for Mortal Kombat 11 players on PC.
