Microsoft and Sony to collaborate on cloud-based "solutions for gaming experiences," AI

Microsoft and Sony have announced the companies will collaborate on new cloud-based solutions for "gaming experiences and AI solutions."

The firms announced today it would collaborate on cloud technology which will support and enhance the "customer experiences" in entertainment platforms.

Microsoft and Sony said the two companies will explore joint development in Microsoft Azure cloud tech to support their respective game and content-streaming services. Sony will also make use of Microsoft Azure datacenter-based offerings for its game and content-streaming services.

"By working together, the companies aim to deliver more enhanced entertainment experiences for their worldwide customers," reads the press release. "These efforts will also include building better development platforms for the content creator community."

Sony and Microsoft will also explore collaboration in the areas of semiconductors and AI, which will "provide enhanced capabilities for enterprise customers." Sony will also incorporate Microsoft’s AI platform and tools in Sony consumer products, "to provide highly intuitive and user-friendly AI experiences."

Going forward, the two companies will share additional information when available, but it should be noted that many other companies use these same Microsoft services. Still, it's a start we suppose.
