Remnant: From the Ashes, the loot shooter from Darksiders devs, is out in August
Gunfire Games has officially confirmed the release date for Remnant: From the Ashes.
Remnant: From the Ashes was officially revealed last year as the new IP from Gunfire Games, the team made up of former Vigil developers. Vigil, of course, is the creator of the Darksiders series.
Gunfire ended up wrapping up the trilogy with Darksiders 3, which may explain why things have been a bit quiet on the Remnant front. Fear now, however, because the game is out this summer. Gunfire announced that Remnant: From the Ashes launches August 20 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Remnant: From the Ashes is a three-player co-op shooter/action game hybrid. It's set in a post apocalyptic world invaded by mythical monsters, not unlike what you might see in a Darksiders game. Melee combat is stamina-based, but you'll also have to rely on firearms for range.
When you're not chasing loot, you'll be exploring procedurally generated environments, gaining scarp in the process. This is how you'll be able to grow your character, upgrade your weapons, and craft new items. It's a bit of unusual mix, but certainly interesting.
Perfect World is publishing the game, but it'll be available on Steam at launch - alongside the company's own Arc launcher.
