Anthem patch adds Elysian Caches, Legendary Missions, brings DLSS to Nvidia RTX GPUs

Anthem just received a big new patch.

BioWare has rolled out a new update for Anthem on all platforms. Patch 1.0.4 comes with two major features the developer has talked about in recent weeks.

First, the update will make it possible to replay story missions in higher difficulty in what is called Legendary Missions. Only one of these will be available per day, and you'll be able to play them as many times as you want while they're available.

Elysian Caches are the other major addition. These are chests that appear at the end of Strongholds, containing vanity items, and crafting materials, but not armour. To open Elysian Caches, you'll need Elysian Keys, which you get as a reward for completing daily challenges.

BioWare made a few updates to the game's loot system once again with 1.0.4. Chests in Strongholds, freeplay, and missions should now drop more items, and crafting materials. Likewise, Apex creatures like Ursix, Titans, Furies, and Escari wil now also drop more loot. The same is true for Stronghold bosses on Grand Master 1 difficulty or higher.

BioWare also made a major change to The Forge, making it accessible through the main menu while in Fort Tarsis, and in the Launch Bay social space. Further, you should no longer see a loading screen when entering The Forge at Fort Tarsis.

On PC, the patch brings a few welcome additions. An FOV slider is now finally a reality, and you'll be able to adjust ground, zoomed, flight, swim, and first-person pilot FOVs separately. Owners of Nvidia RTX cards will be happy to know that Anthem now also supports DLSS.

Update 1.0.4 comes with a few performance improvements, and a big list of bug fixes for all platforms. Read up on it all on Reddit.
