PUBG marks its two year anniversary with free in-game item
PUBG Corp. is thanking players for sticking with the game since its launch two years ago with a free in-game two-year anniversary cap.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds second anniversary is this weekend, and the developer penned a 2nd anniversary letter which it released alongside a special message from PUBG Corp. CEO CH Kim, announcing the freebie for PC and console players.
The letter mentions the work the studio did last year, following the Fix PUBG campaign, which was in response to the community's call for the developer to - you guessed it - fix the game.
The campaign came to a close in November, with stability and quality becoming the new focus ahead of this year's new content.
To claim your free cap on console, simply login between April 9 and May 7. PC players can visit the in-game store to "purchase" the item between March 27 and April 24.
Last year saw players receive a free weapon skin to commemorate the game's first anniversary.
"But just because we’re celebrating how far we’ve come doesn’t mean we’re not aware of what we still need to accomplish," reads the blog post.
"We’re currently deep into planning improvements to our first map, Erangel. The first changes in this process, increasing and improving loot, have already deployed to test servers, where we welcome your feedback."
Erangel's increased loot rolled out in update 27 earlier this week, along with a number of balances and tweaks to weapons.
