Doom makers distance themselves from Doom: Annihilation movie

Doom creators id Software are not involved with the upcoming Doom: Annihilation movie in any capacity.

On Twitter id Software revealed in a very short, and to the point, tweet it's not involved in the Doom: Annihilation film.

In April 2018, it was announced a new Doom film was in the works at Universal Studios. News of the film was confirmed via a tweet from actor and Letters from the Fire vocalist Nina Bergman who has a role in the movie.

She also promised the script for the film was much better than the 2005 movie starring Dwayne Johnson and Steph's future ex-husband Karl Urban.

The official movie trailer doesn't really give you much of a an idea of whether that statement is true or not. Then again, it's just a short teaser.

Plot wise, the film follows a group of space marines responding to a distress call from a base on a Martian moon. Upon arrival, they find it has been overrun by demonic creatures who "threaten to create Hell on Earth." Sounds about right.

A theatrical release date for Doom: Annihilation other than "coming soon" has yet to be announced.
