Activision won't be sending out early Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice review copies
You're probably not going to see many reviews ahead of the launch of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice later this month.
Activision, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice's publisher, has confirmed that it won't be sending out review code for the From Software game before the official release. In other words, press will be getting access around the same time as consumers.
The publisher confirmed this to VG247 at a recent preview event, and the same has been relayed to other publications. Interestingly, it seems Activision also won't be sending out early code to YouTubers.
YouTuber SkillUp has revealed this in a tweet. In some cases, publishers choose to only send review code early to select YouTubers, which doesn't appear to be the case this time.
This is obviously a bit worrying, but Activision's reasons could just be logistical rather than anything to do with the quality of Sekiro. Alex generally had very positive things to say when he played it this week, and From Software's track record in recent years has obviously been stellar.
Still, this means we won't be able to bring you our full review, or guide content, until a couple of days after launch. You may want to hold off a little bit until impressions of final code are in the wild.
Shadows Die Twice review is out March 22 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
