PUBG's Vikendi map officially launches next week on PS4, Xbox One
The final version of Vikendi, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' snow map, hits live servers next week on consoles.
Vikendi has been available on live PC servers since December, when it hit alongside a big patch. Console players who are not interested in downloading the test server version, however, have had to wait.
It sounds like they won't have to wait too much longer, as PUBG Corp. has anounced the map's launch date. Vikendi goes live Tuesday, January 22 on PS4, and Xbox One.
Vikendi is a 6v6km map that offers gameplay somewhere between the chaotic, fast-paced action of Sanhok, and the more methodical, classic PUBG experience found on Erangel, and Miramar. It's also the game's first snow map, and its snow covered streets make it easy to track player footprints.
The map isn't the only new content, of course, as console players can also look forward to the new G36C assault rifle, and the new snowmobile vehicle. Catch the video below for a look behind the scenes at PUBG Corp's thought process while creating the map.
