Alan Wake and Max Payne’s voice actors are going to appear in Remedy’s next game, Control

The voice actors for two of Remedy’s most popular protagonists, Max Payne and Alan Wake, are going to star in Control, their next game.

The two voice actors aren’t reprising their previous roles unfortunately, as James McCaffrey, the voice actor for Max Payne, will be playing former director of the Federal Bureau of Control Zachariah Trench, while Matthew Porretta, Alan Wake’s voice actor, will play the head of research, Dr. Casper Darling.

This was all confirmed in a new developer diary for Control which Eurogamer picked up on, titled Directors Old and New. It features interviews with Sam Lake, creative director at Remedy, James McCaffrey, and others, all discussing the two characters and how they interact with the protagonist, Jesse Faden.

Jesse Faden’s actor had already been confirmed as Courtney Hope, who is also a Remedy veteran, having played Beth in Quantum Break. Faden is the new director at the Federal Bureau of Control, taking over from Trench.

There was little information given on Matthew Porretta and his character, Dr. Darling, interact with the rest of the cast. He was only revealed at the end of the developer diary in a bit of a twist, so it’s likely either his exact role will remain a mystery or he will feature in the next developer diary.

What we do know is that Dr. Darling is a research scientist at the bureau, so it’s likely he will be a prominent figure as the paranormal is explained throughout Control.

Control is scheduled for a 2019 release, so the game is a long way away. But at least the dulcet tones of Porretta will be something to look forward to.
