Star Citizen: Squadron 42 gets a new trailer - stars Mark Hamill, Gillian Anderson, Gary Oldman, and Henry Cavill
CitizenCon is a go and Cloud Imperium Games has shown off an all-new gameplay trailer for Squadron 42.
Originally planned as the single-player portion of Star Citizen, Squadron 42 has morphed into a standalone experience where players can pilot spacecraft, spacewalk, and fight aliens in first-person encounters.
The game features an all-star cast, including Mark Hamill, Gillian Anderson, Gary Oldman, Mark Strong, and Henry Cavill. The cast also includes Liam Cunningham, Andy Serkis, Ben Mendelsohn, and John Rhys Davies.
See them in their roles in the video below:
Set in the year 2945, Squadron 42 tells the story of the Earth's Navy and its fight against the invading Vanduul, a race of warlike aliens. Battling across remote moons and dogfighting around kilometre long capital ships, you must push back this extraterrestrial threat, as well as repelling attacks from bandits and outlaws.
Cloud Imperium plans to release the full Squadron 42 roadmap in December, so it looks like we’ll know a tentative release window by the end of the year.
Whatever your feelings about Star Citizen as a whole, you have to admit this looks exciting, expensive, and expansive. Hopefully it all comes together in the end. Star Citizen and Squadron 42 are planned for release on ridiculously powerful PCs.
